About the event
Securing funding can be one of the biggest challenges in bringing a film project to life—but knowing where to look and how to apply can make all the difference. In this hands-on, three-hour intensive workshop, filmmakers will learn the fundamentals of grant writing and discover funding opportunities that extend beyond traditional film grants.
Participants will explore film-specific grants, arts funding, small business grants, private foundations, and local funding resources while gaining practical strategies for identifying opportunities that align with their projects. The workshop will also cover the essential rules of successful grant writing, including how to craft compelling narratives, avoid common application mistakes, build realistic budgets, and tailor submissions to meet each funder’s requirements.
Through guided exercises, attendees will begin developing key grant materials—including a strong logline and grant response—and receive peer feedback to strengthen their applications. Whether you’re seeking funding for your first short film, documentary, feature, or creative…
